Welcome to Division 19

Welcome to our class site.  Check out the different parts of our site to see what is happening in our class.  You can check your homework, get documents for your assignments and even see pictures or videos of what we have been doing lately.  Come back and visit the site frequently to see all of the fun things that we are doing in Division 19 and on Team Wolverines.

This is going to be an exciting year.  Learning is such fun, and my hope is that this year you will learn so much, and have a great time doing it.  I have learned so much this summer.  As you may have noticed, our website looks a little different.  We're trying out some new technology which will hopefully help us to learn more together.  You will get the chance to work more collaboratively this year and this website is going to be a very powerful part of that.  I am so excited to share what I have learned with you and see what you create in this space.  It may look simple, but it is very powerful.

Spring Break

This passed week, during Spring Break, my family and I went to Parksville for a few nights.  It was a great little get away, and a wonderful time as a family. We stayed at the Beach Acres Resort at Rathtrevor beach, just outside of Parksville.  The weather was pretty good, with some breaks in the rain every day.  This picture was taken on Wednesday morning at sunrise.  The sky lit up like this for a very short time, and I was lucky to get the picture.

Here are some more pictures of our trip.  As you can see, we spent a lot of time at the beach.  My parents also came along and it was great for the kids to spend some time with their grand parents.  Our kids just love their "Oma" and "Opa" and it sure was nice to spend some time all together.  We also got a chance to check out the North Island Wild Life Reserve, where they care for injured animals, especially birds.  Although it was sad to see that many animals have been injured and displaced due to human activity, it is good to know that these animals receive excellent care and have a chance to live a life that is far better than without the NIWR.

Overall we had a wonderful trip.  Ben and James sure enjoyed the ferry rides and spending time at the beach.  I loved spending time with all of my loved ones.

Here is a panorama image that I created.  It really shows what the beach is like at Rathtrevor.
