Welcome to Division 19

Welcome to our class site.  Check out the different parts of our site to see what is happening in our class.  You can check your homework, get documents for your assignments and even see pictures or videos of what we have been doing lately.  Come back and visit the site frequently to see all of the fun things that we are doing in Division 19 and on Team Wolverines.

This is going to be an exciting year.  Learning is such fun, and my hope is that this year you will learn so much, and have a great time doing it.  I have learned so much this summer.  As you may have noticed, our website looks a little different.  We're trying out some new technology which will hopefully help us to learn more together.  You will get the chance to work more collaboratively this year and this website is going to be a very powerful part of that.  I am so excited to share what I have learned with you and see what you create in this space.  It may look simple, but it is very powerful.

To really keep up with what's happening in our class you need to read our blog.  We would love for you to read them and we are eager to hear what you think.  So hit the reply button and let us know.  Check out our blog at blog.division19.ca.  All of the students in our class have their own blog now, so you can check out what they are writing about.  As well, you can give them feedback about your thoughts, or how they can improve their writing.  You can also us the QR code to view our blog.

Later in term 1 and during the beginning of term 2 we are going to be working on a project called World Wanderers.  This project is a wonderful way for students to learn about other cultures.  This year I want to aim higher.  I want to make things more "real."  I want to leverage technology to enhance the learning of our class.  To that end I have created a project on Skype in the Classroom.  Hopefully teachers from around the world will see this project and want to be a part of it.  It would be so fun, an authentic to learn about different cultures from people within those cultures, and to share what it means to be Canadian with them!  We have such a wonderful culture and I think this project will not only help us to identify what life is like for others around the world, but it will help us understand what it means to be Canadian.  If your reading this and can think of someone who can help us, please pass on their information to Mr. Heinrichs.
